Headed West in South Dakota

Kanye West held his first official campaign event in North Charleston, South Dakota on Sunday, beginning in earnest his 2020 Presidential hopes.

Held at North Charleston’s Exquis Event Center, West filled the room with registered guests only, who were asked to sign Covid-19 liability release forms and socially distance at the event and masks were encouraged

Once Kanye took the stage, decked out in a camoflague teflon vest, and 2020 shaved into the back of his head, West spoke for about an hour about topics including Socialism, police brutality, and his addiction to Percocet. He spoke without a microphone, and any audience members who more than whispered would be escorted out by security.

Kanye spoked extensively, and even broke down in tears, about abortions. Specifically, Kanye said “My mom saved my life. My dad wanted to abort me.”

“I almost killed my daughter,” West, continued in tears, referring to the couple’s eldest, North West.

“No more Plan B, Plan A,” he added.

While everything Kanye spoke about was controversial, his opinions on Black History will always get him in trouble. The “Jesus Walks” singer said, “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves. She just had the slaves go work for other white people.”

West brought various audience members onstage to speak with. His last audience question, when he was asked to clarify his Harriet Tubman comment and shed light on his stance on homosexuality, West said, “I am not going to pacify you with things that I don’t believe in, but I will not put laws on things that you do believe in,”

“I am not that kind of Christian.”

UGH.

UGH.

UGH UGH UGH.

Kanye, please don’t fuck this up for us. I’ve been a fan for a really long time. It hasn’t always been easy. But if you somehow get Biden in the White House instead of the Racist Tangerine we have now, I will never stop listening to your albums.

Kanye announced on Twitter last week that he wants to run for President in 2020. #2020Vision. Clever!

The only problem with this is:

  • He’s unqualified
  • He’s nuts
  • We have a very bad man in the office right now
  • We have a better man who is trying to get him out
  • Kanye is not either of those people, so he shouldn’t be involved
  • He involved himself
  • And finally
  • If Kanye is a candidate that people vote for, either out of fandom or thinking they’re funny, or just because they hate both choices, Kanye will still not recieve close to enough votes to win. Howver, he may steal valuable votes away from Joe Biden, who, as earlier noted, is trying to kick the racist bad man out of the office that he uses to do bad things to good people.

Kanye’s currently polling at 2%. The data shows that he isn’t affecting Biden’s numbers, but he is taking a point away from Trumpito.

So with any hope, Biden/Kanye is the winning ticket, and we can experience joy and relief again.

But we’ll just have to see what happens in 112 DAYS.

Kanye Is Gonna Kanye

What can Kanye possibly do that will shock us? The man has seemingly done and said it all! The man literally said “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” on live TV. While he was 100% right with that statement, still; shocking.

However, it seems Kanye still has some tricks up his Yeezy-branded sleeves. The prolific and controversial rapper and artist announced late on July 4th that he intends to run for President of the United States.

While this is an incredibly interesting idea in theory, in actuality, this is a beautiful, dark, twisted, bad idea. The world need an actual stable genius now.

Apparently, Kanye’s late night tweet wasn’t just lip service, he actually has a platform loosely put together, and it is terrible.

In an interview this morning with Forbes, Kanye flaunted his anti-vaxx views, saying:

“It’s so many of our children that are being vaccinated and paralyzed… So when they say the way we’re going to fix Covid is with a vaccine, I’m extremely cautious. That’s the mark of the beast. They want to put chips inside of us, they want to do all kinds of things, to make it where we can’t cross the gates of heaven. I’m sorry when I say they, the humans that have the Devil inside them.”

He also said that ““Planned Parenthoods have been placed inside cities by white supremacists to do the Devil’s work.” He doesn’t believe in the death penalty. He thinks there should be prayer in schools. One of his main priorities is chemicals: “In our deodorant, in our toothpaste, there are chemicals that affect our ability to be of service to God.”

As troubling as all of these statements are, we can at least take solace in the face that Kanye appears to be over his commitment to Trump. “I’m taking the red hat off with this interview… It looks like one big mess to me. I don’t like that I caught wind that he hid in the bunker.”

The whole interview is incredibly wild, just as the Kanye West fan journey has been. Read the rest of the interview here
